Executive Moves

UMB Promotes Macdonald, Outridge to EVP, COO

UMB Fund Services has promoted Lonnie Macdonald to executive vice president and director of business development and Richard Outridge to chief operating officer of its hedge fund and alternative investment servicing division, JP Clark & Co.

Macdonald, a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, joined UMB in 2007 as senior vice president and manager of business development, and has successfully expanded the company's product offerings, including the acquisition of JP Clark.

"Lon has brought tremendous value to our organization," said John Zader, chief executive officer of UMBFS. "He has substantially improved our business development and marketing efforts and identified acquisition and growth opportunities for UMBFS. As he continues to work to build our brand and reputation in the fund servicing marketplace as a premier provider of high-quality services, we are pleased to recognize his contributions with this promotion."

Before joining the company, Macdonald was head of business development for GCom2 Solutions. He also spent five years in management consulting, as managing director at Access Data, as senior vice president and managing partner at Atlantic Research and Consulting, as vice president on the distribution services team at BISYS Fund Services and as an operations manager for Fidelity Investments.

Outridge, who now reports to Zader, has been charged with building a suite of middle-office services for alternative investments by the third quarter of this year. Before joining UMBFS two years ago, Outridge was a managing director at PNC Global Investment Servicing, fund accounting director at GlobeOp Financial Serivces, chief financial officer for Refco Capital Markets and a risk manager and controller at Svenska Handelsbanken.

DTCC Selects Gilly as VP For Wealth Management

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. has appointed Annemarie Gilly as vice president of product management for wealth management services, responsible for expanding DTCC's mutual fund services into offshore markets.

"With more than 20 years in the asset management industry, Annemarie brings a particular level of leadership and command of the market that will support our strategy to extend the cost, risk and distribution efficiencies of our services to new customers," said Ann Bergin, managing director and general manager of wealth management services.

Gilly was previously president of Gilly Consulting, which she formed in 2006 to work with hedge funds and independent boards of directors. Before that, she was global head of client servicing for GlobeOp Financial Services, where she ran a 45-person department to support more than 125 hedge funds and funds-of-funds.

She also was head of U.K. relationship management for The Bank of New York, head of client services for the Zweig Organization and worked in compliance, operations, retail sales and investor relations at Concord Financial Group, Gabelli Equity Trust and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
