Internet Funds May Be Hot in Correction
May 17, 1999
Internet mutual funds are extremely popular now because of stellar performance. But they may also do well during a market correction, according to a poll by the Mutual Funds Interactive website.
Thirty-six percent of the poll respondents said they would buy Internet stocks or mutual funds if the Internet segment of the market went through a correction. Thirty-seven percent said they also thought that Internet funds and stocks are solid investments. However, 27 percent of the poll respondents also said they would not invest in Internet funds or stocks since few Internet companies have earnings and the sector is highly competitive.
"Investors appear generally sanguine about Internet stocks and plan to use price dips as buying opportunities," Marla Brill, co-founder of Mutual Funds Interactive, said in a statement.
