May 24, 1999
Standard & Poor's of New York has begun rating European bond funds. Stephanie Mery, associate director for S&P, said the ratings have been designed to help investors evaluate funds' risk as measured by the volatility of funds' returns. The fund ratings scale ranges from S1, bond funds which have the lowest volatility, to S6, funds with the highest volatility.
