Waite Joins Great-West As Regional Sales Director


Great-West Retirement Services has appointed Scott T. Waite as regional sales director for 401(k) plans in the metro Detroit and western Michigan market. Waite reports to Scott Barnett, regional vice president.

He comes to Great-West from John Hancock Retirement Services, where he worked for 14 years. Previously, he was an assistant vice president at First National Bank, responsible for developing leads, training financial consultants and maintaining sales efforts for retirement and insurance customers.

Former Treasury Executive Now With PwC

Douglas W. Roeder, former senior deputy comptroller for large bank supervision at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency at the U.S. Department of Treasury, has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers U.S.' financial services regulatory practice.

In addition, PwC also recently recruited to the practice Thomas Sullivan, former Connecticut state insurance commissioner; Coryann Stefansson, former associate director, banking and supervision from the Board of Governors at the Federal Reserve; and William Penner, former deputy director of the division of clearing and intermediary oversight at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

"Our financial services regulatory practice is comprised of some of the most seasoned and knowledgeable regulatory professionals in the industry, like Doug, who can help our clients develop strategies and manage risks that meet the expectations of regulators and all their stakeholders," said Bob Sullivan, PwC's global banking and capital markets leader.

Roeder has spent his entire career at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, most recently as senior deputy controller, responsible for examinations and supervision activities in the largest national banks, federal branches and agencies.

 

Janus Portfolio Manager Rollins Joins 361° Capital

Blaine Rollins has joined 361° Capital as a managing director, senior portfolio manager and member of the investment committee. He was previously an executive vice president and portfolio manager at Janus, running a number of funds, including the Janus Fund and the Janus Balanced Fund. Rollins was with Janus for 16 years and began his career at AMG as an analyst.

As a member of 361° Capital's investment committee, Rollins will play a significant role in managing a number of portfolios, but will concentrate on the firm's first mutual fund, the 361° Absolute Alpha Fund, a multi-manager, long/short equity fund.

"In addition to his extensive portfolio management experience, Blaine brings an array of capabilities that align exceptionally well with our investment approach," said Tom Florence, chief executive officer. "He is an accomplished portfolio manager and has proven capabilities in quantitative research, hedging and trading strategies. He will be a great addition to our team."

 

Averett, Jurczak Join Gemini Fund Services

Gemini Fund Services has appointed Britt Averett as client services manager at Gemini and David Jurczak as a senior sales and distribution consultant at sister company Northern Lights Distributors.

"Gemini strives to help advisers develop and distribute the investment products that meet their specific vision and needs, while we handle all the administration, accounting and technology required for a successful fund," said Andrew Rogers, president of Gemini Fund Services. "We're thrilled to welcome David and Britt, whose deep industry experience expands our ability to deliver personalized attention to clients and reinforce our range of solutions at a time of significant growth for Gemini."

Jurczak will work with clients of Gemini Fund Services and Northern Lights Distributors to help them develop business plans, take advantage of networking opportunities and raise fund assets. Jurczak is a 15-year veteran of the financial services industry, having worked with large mutual fund companies, independent broker-dealers, small registered investment advisory groups and independent representative firms.

Averett will work with Senior Client Services Manager Susan Hansen to oversee day-to-day client servicing for Gemini. She comes to the firm from Ivy Asset Management, where she was an associate vice president in the client development group. She has more than 10 years of experience servicing high-net-worth and institutional clients.

"Britt and David's appointments speak to Gemini's continued growth as more advisers seek to provide specialized funds," Rogers said. Bother will play a critical role in working with clients, he said.
