Three Join New York Life Retirement Income Group

New York Life Insurance has hired three in its retirement income security group.
Eileen Sebold joins the company as managing director and national relationship manager for the wirehouse channel, reporting to Senior Managing Director Ben Woloshin.
Michael Stern joins as managing director and national sales manager for the wirehouse channel, reporting to senior managing director Allyson McDonald.
Jason Buck is now the West coast divisional sales manager for the wirehouse channel, reporting to Stern.
Sebold comes to the company from JPMorgan Asset Management, where she was strategic relationship manager. Before that, Sebold was with AllianceBernstein in charge of relationship management across the bank, independent broker-dealer and wirehouse channels.
Prior to joining New York Life, Stern was with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney for 11 years, most recently as national sales manager for investment products and annuities.
Buck comes to the firm from ING Individual Retirement, where he was a vice president and divisional sales manager. He began his career at McGuinness Companies/Endeavor Group, where he was a regional vice president.

Atlantic Trust Expands Roles of Queler, Katz
Atlantic Trust, the private wealth management division of Invesco, expanded the roles of Managing Directors Sid Queler and Bruce Katz as it experienced record growth of about $1 billion in net assets under management. Queler has been promoted to national director of business development, while Katz has been promoted to director of strategic alliances.
In his new role, Queler will oversee business development planning and initiatives for the firm. He will also play a key role in its recruiting efforts for new business development professionals.
Katz will strengthen existing relationships and develop new opportunities for business alliances with external firms to promote further growth. Both Queler, based in Boston, and Katz, in New York, will continue to drive the business development efforts in their respective offices.

Mirae Hires Capeci as SVP, Strategic Relationship Mgr.
Mirae Asset Global Investments, which specializes in emerging markets, has hired John M. Capeci as senior vice president, strategic relationship manager, in charge of relationships with national and regional broker-dealers, banks, supermarket platforms and custodians to registered independent advisors.
A 17-year veteran of the financial services industry, Capeci most recently was with Prudential Investments as vice president, senior account manager, in charge of multiple distribution channels.
Earlier, as vice president, director of relationship management at Fred Alger Management, he designed the firm's relationship model for work with financial intermediaries. Capeci held a similar position at AllianceBernstein and began his career as a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch.
Baird Expands Milwaukee Wealth Management Team
Baird has expanded its Milwaukee private wealth management team with the addition of three wealth management professionals from the Gawelski Group.
The new appointments include: Jeffrey H. Gawelski, director and financial adviser, who has also held positions at A.G. Edwards, Piper Jaffray, RBC Dain Rauscher and UBS; John "J.R." Richards, financial adviser associate; and Linda Davis, registered client relationship associate.
The new appointments come as the firm has been on a hiring spree in the past year, adding 63 financial advisers and branch managers to its team in 2010.
These new appointments bring Baird's Milwaukee wealth management office, which is its largest, to 69 in staff. The firm previously expanded the Milwaukee office with the addition of the WE Group and five of its wealth management professionals in May.
Baird's private wealth management division has more than 680 financial advisers and $59 billion in client assets.
First Republic Nabs Pair of Wells Fargo Veterans
First Republic Bank, a San Francisco private banking and wealth management firm, has hired Lucas Newman and Michael Tinney as portfolio managers and managing directors for First Republic Private Wealth Management in Portland, Ore. Newman worked for Wells Fargo's private bank for 10 years, most recently as a VP and investment manager, and previously for a regional investment advisor in western Montana. Tinney was a SVP for Wells Fargo's private bank and previously a portfolio manager for Investors Research Co., where he also was a member of the firm's investment committee.
