SEC Will Hold Advisor Roundtable
April 3, 2000
The Securities and Exchange Commission will hold a public roundtable on May 23 on investment advisors.
Arthur Levitt, chairman of the SEC, will speak at the beginning of the all-day roundtable. The commission will then explore whether or not additional regulations regarding investment advisors are needed, and how investment advisors are different than broker/dealers. The SEC will also look into soft dollars, personal trading, advisors' obligations to seek best execution, advertising and performance reporting.
