S&P Provides Fund Data For Japanese Web Site
August 14, 2000
Standard & Poor's Fund Services of New York has begun providing fund data and commentary to askU.com, a Japanese website that rates and reviews Japanese investment trusts, said Sandy Braggs, executive managing director for S&P Fund Services.
S&P will track 2,000 Japanese investment trusts through Ifis Inc. of Tokyo, its Japanese subsidiary. Japanese investment trusts are similar to U.S. open-end funds, according to Braggs.
S&P acquired Ifis Inc., which collects Japanese investment trust information and produces commentary and fund ratings, a year ago.
In the past year, S&P has reached agreements with 12 other Japanese websites to provide fund data and commentary, according to Braggs.
"AskU.com is a prominent site, and we are pleased to be the source of fund information and commentary," Braggs said.
