October 15, 2001
Social fund group Calvert of Bethesda, Md., has lured Kemal Ahmed away from his post as senior investment officer with the World Bank and has named him senior VP of its equities department, Calvert announced last week.
In the newly created position, Ahmed will monitor Calvert's equity products and will help the firm identify new product opportunities in which to expand. In addition, Ahmed will help recruit and manage the firm's stable of sub-advisors, a role he played with the World Bank.
Ahmed managed $4 billion in U.S. equities held in the World Bank's fund of funds pension plan. Prior to joining the bank in 1993, he worked for the Bank of America, where he was an assistant VP of international banking.
