Executive Moves

Former Putnam Exec Joins GoldK as EVP

Jeffrey Miller has joined online retirement plan administrator and record keeper GoldK as executive vice president and global director of distribution. In addition to providing administrative services, GoldK offers retirement education and a selection of investments from 25 fund families.

In this new position at the firm, Miller will serve as director of all sales channels and head of strategic partnerships both domestically and internationally. He reports to Troy Shaver, vice chairman of GoldK.

Miller was previously with Putnam Investments as managing director of private asset management. In this role, he led Putnam's entry into the separate account business. In his seven years at Putnam, Miller held various senior management positions, including head of Putnam's European business development.

"In my view, GoldK represents the present and future of the retirement-services business. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow an entrepreneurial business that has already established significant momentum," Miller said. "We have just begun to tap into the market's large potential."

Dimensional Fund Advisors has hired Philip Nash as its European marketing director.

The company said the move is part of an effort to expand its offshore operations. Nash will focus on institutional funds in the UK as well as in other European countries and the Middle East. He will report to David Salisbury, CEO of Dimensional's European operations.

Nash previously worked as a director at Barclay's Global Investors. He has also worked for Frank Russell Co. and Nomura Capital Management. At Barclay's, he most recently managed client business in western central Europe.

Cromwell joins Transamerica from INVESCO, where he served as regional vice president of the defined contribution alliance team in the firm's retirement unit. In that role, he managed sales and marketing to major financial institutions in the West. Prior to that, he helped to build and implement INVESCO's 401(k) product for small businesses.

Reserve Management Co., investment advisor to the Reserve Funds, has promoted Ira Liss to institutional relationship manager. He will be responsible for sales to and service for Reserve's institutional money fund clients.

Liss joined Reserve in 2001 from First Institutional Securities as a business strategy consultant. He helped Reserve identify strong products and services and develop marketing strategies.

"Ira has demonstrated excellence in defining the objectives of business strategy consultant and building the infrastructure for this newly created position since he joined us," said Eric Lansky, senior vice president of marketing for Reserve. "In his new role, he will communicate with institutional clients to identify their needs, provide direction and evaluate their progress, bringing added-value to clients."

Thomas Littauer has been named president of Dreman Value Management, a New York-based investment management firm with approximately $7.6 billion in assets under management.

Littauer previously was a managing director at Scudder Kemper Investments, where he served as head of the firm's Asia Pacific and Americas Global Mutual Fund Group. He was also chairman of the board of the Scudder Global Opportunities Funds. Prior to that, Littauer served as president of Kemper Funds.
