AMCORE Promotes Edge To Chief Executive Officer

AMCORE Financial, parent company of AMCORE Investment Group and the Vintage Funds family of mutual funds, has named Kenneth Edge CEO of the firm. He takes over for Robert Meuleman, who had been serving as chairman and CEO. Meuleman will continue in his role as chairman until his retirement at the end of the year.

"Bob Meuleman did an excellent job of growing our company and positioning us in the right markets with the right people," Edge said. "During his term as CEO beginning in 1996, our company has increased its banking assets by 50% and doubled its investment assets under administration."

Edge, who joined AMCORE in 1969, has most recently served as president and chief operating officer. AMCORE will not fill the position of COO, as Edge will retain the role of president, CEO and COO, said Katherine Taylor, a spokeswoman for the firm.
