CSAM Shuffles Execs To Fortify Global Presence

Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) has announced several restructuring changes intended to enhance its global platform, including the designation of a new global executive committee and a cutback of its operating regions from five to three.

The three regions will now consist of the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Joseph Gallagher, previously the CFO and CEO of CSAM Europe, will be in charge of the Americas. CSAM Europe will merge its operations in Europe and Switzerland and be headed by Henry Wegmann, former CEO of CSAM Switzerland. Andrew McKinnon will oversee the Asia Pacific region, comprised of Australia, Japan and the rest of Asia, although Toshio Fukuda will continue to manage the Japanese business.

CSAM also elected Robert Parker, global head of institutional marketing to its newly created vice chairman position, where he will be responsible for client relations.

And finally, the new global executive committee positions, effective immediately, will include: Jeffrey Peek, vice chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston and head of the financial services division; Wegmann; Joseph Gallagher; McKinnon; Laurence Smith, global CIO; Greg Sawers, global head of research; and Parker.
