Dan Hesser, former chief executive officer of Invesco Funds, passed away from injuries incurred in a horseback riding accident at the start of the year. Hesser, 63, joined the firm in the early sixties and retired in 1998, after which, he devoted his time to his passion for the outdoors at his ranch in eastern Colorado.
Hesser considered himself the unofficial "historian" of Invesco and boasted a plethora of information regarding the industry's development in Denver. Under the Oklahoma native's guidance, the company grew from $2 billion of assets under management to approximately $16 billion.
