AXA Names Pietrini-Smith as Chief Operating Officer

AXA Distributors, LLC has appointed Joanne Pietrini-Smith as chief operating officer of AXA Partners, its life insurance business.
Pietrini-Smith will oversee the management and optimization of AXA Partners, including the operational aspects of new business and sales.
“With her outstanding management and operations skills, her technology expertise, and record of delivering high-performance results, Joanne will play an integral role in AXA Partners’ drive to galvanize further growth in third-party life distribution,” said Gary Hirschkron, president of AXA Partners and executive vice president of AXA Distributors.
Since joining AXA Equitable in December 2003 as a senior vice president, Pietrini-Smith has held a number of roles in the information technology group and retail distribution group.
Prior to joining AXA, she worked for First Republic Bank, Trainer Wortham & Company, and Mellon Bank Corporation in Pittsburgh, Penn.
She holds a B.A. in Computer Science with Business from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. and a M.B.A. from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass.
