President Obama Taps Ex-US Attorney to Head SEC

President Barack Obama will nominate former US attorney Mary Jo White to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission, replacing incumbent Chairman Elisse Walter, the New York Post reports.

A White House official said the President would announce White's nomination during a ceremony in the State Dining Room Thursday afternoon, according to the Post.

White, who is currently chair of the litigation department at Debevoise & Plimpton, won convictions related to the 1998 bombings of two US embassies in Africa and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing during her stint as US attorney.
